The Information Technology, Inc. Commingle Management Module (CMM) automates the process
of capturing items from several institutions together in a single transaction block for the "capture institution". Items are separated automatically and settled between clearing members. The CMM program demingles transactions by institution from commingled blocks and creates in-clearing settlement transactions.
Items are automatically divided by institution and unique Item Entry System transaction blocks are created for each institution. The program also creates settlement transactions and assigns float between clearing members and the lead institution. Settlement parameters are defined in the IES Clearing Specifications.
Commingled Clearing Options
The IES Clearing Specifications have two new options for item processing in a commingled environment.
For lead institutions only, the Float Posting Option controls how cashletter float is assigned by the lead institution to commingled member institutions.
In a commingled environment, the unique specifications for the institution identified in the batch ticket may be automatically downloaded each time a 952 batch ticket is processed.
Settlement by Endpoint
For lead institutions in a commingled environment, settlement for transit items can be based on endpoints instead of pockets.
Credits Accepted, Captured, Demingled
Credits that belong to a member of a commingled group can be accepted and captured by other members of the group.
Direct-Send Cashletters
Members of a commingled capture group can send a cashletter to an institution outside the group and still settle the cashletter with the lead institution.
